CW11/WPIX WINS 8 EMMY AWARDS
INCLUDING BEST EVENING NEWSCAST
AND BEST ON-CAMERA TALENT
NEW YORK, April 2, 2007-- The CW11/WPIX, Tribune Broadcasting's New York CW affiliate, was awarded 8 Emmy® Awards at the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' 50th Annual Award presentation last night in Manhattan at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.
The CW11/WPIX celebrated a total of 8 wins, ahead of all stations except WNBC-TV. CW11/WPIX's "CW11 News at Ten" was named best Evening Newscast (Over 35 Minutes) and "CW11 Morning News" host Sukanya Krishnan was named best On-Camera Talent (Program/Host), her second consecutive Emmy for on-camera achievement.
Capturing best Breaking News Story, Best Spot News Story, Best Education Program/Special and Best Teen Story, CW11/WPIX also won two Promotion Image awards. The CW11/WPIX has won nearly 160 Emmy® Awards to date.
The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' 50th Annual New York Emmy® Awards honor outstanding achievement in the television industry during the eligibility period of September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2006.
