CW11/WPIX TO AIR “JUSTICE, EQUALITY & HOPE: LEGACY OF MARTIN LUTHER KING”

New York, NY – February 11, 2008 The CW11/WPIX, Tribune Broadcasting's New York CW affiliate will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an original special "Justice, Equality & Hope: Legacy of Martin Luther King" on Saturday, February 23 at 10:30pm and April 4 at 10:30pm (this version will be updated to reflect the 40th anniversary of Dr. King's assassination.)
Hosted by CW11 Morning News' Tiffany McElroy, "Justice, Equality & Hope: Legacy of Martin Luther King," profiles Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and takes a historical look at the confluence of events that helped shape the Civil Rights movement.
Highlights of the special include: a first hand account of Dr. King's death from Andrew Young, former congressman, and UN ambassador and interviews with Civil Rights experts from Columbia
University and Georgetown University. The special also includes historic footage and speeches including Martin Luther King Jr.'s letter from the Birmingham jail and the moving "I Have a Dream" and Memphis rally speeches.

The special also includes a feature on the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial that is currently under construction in Washington DC, including a walk through of the site and a timeline on its completion, with a discussion of the Memorial's mission and the impact it will have in our society.
"Justice, Equality & Hope: Legacy of Martin Luther King" was locally produced by CW11 and filmed in New York, Detroit, Washington DC and Atlanta.
