Memorable Season 4 Moments
Season 4 got off to a slow start with Rory at Yale, but it sure ended in a big way with the scandalous Rory and Dean romance and the fantastic Luke and Lorelai kiss!
Rory's At Yale
Rory starts college at Yale and has a bit of trouble getting into her new lifestyle. As luck would have it, her frenemy Paris ends up being one of her roommates. She tries to prove herself to the Yale Daily News by writing a harsh ballet review, which does get her the job, but also some death threats to boot.
It's a tough year for Rory on the boyfriend front too. She gets turned down, then her first college date is a dud. She does meet a naked Marty, but no sparks. Things don't pick up until Spring Break when she drunk dials up Dean. Not her best idea, since by that point he's with Lindsay. The real scandal sets in the night that The Dragonfly Inn opens, where after months of flirting, Rory and the married, Dean sleep together.
A New Man For Lorelai
He's no Luke Danes, but Jason "Digger" Stiles had just the right level of obnoxiousness to annoy Emily, and that made him perfect boyfriend material for Lorelai. Of course, Lorelai kept her dating him a secret until a private investigator revealed it to Richard in Tick, Tick, Tick, Boom.
He weasled his way over to Friday Night Dinner (Die, Jerk), he went into business with Richard, then went out of business with Richard. Digger just wasn't quite the right fit. By the time The Dragonfly opened, Lorelai figured it out. She was ready to take a chance with somebody who was a friend and a person who she was starting to see in a new light. She and Luke sealed it with a kiss and also a naked, sleep-running, Kirk running by in the season finale Raincoats and Recipes.
Big Break Ups And Shake Ups
Luke got married to Nicole over the summer and quickly divorced in Season 4. Also, Richard and Emily resorted to separate living quarters in Season 4 when many proffessional and personal issues come to light. Mrs. Kim kicked Lane out of the house because she can't deal with Lane's double life as a rock'n'roll drummer and Lane moved in with her band mates, Brian and future husband, Zach.
