Tiffany McElroy is co-anchor of the early edition of "The CW11 Morning News," the weekday news program seen on Tribune Broadcasting's CW Television Network Affiliate, WPIX Channel 11 (The CW11), here. She and colleague Craig Treadway are seen Monday through Friday from 5 am to 7 am.
Tiffany McElroy has always wanted to sit in the anchor chair. As a child in California, Tiffany would watch the news each night with her parents, and by the young age of five, decided she wanted to become a TV newsperson.
Before going to college, Tiffany moved to Rimini, Italy where she lived for four years, teaching English and managing a retail store. When she returned to her home in Santa Monica, CA, she enrolled at the University of California at Los Angeles where she majored in History, with a concentration in 19th century American History.
In pursuit of her TV news goals, Tiffany held a variety of (College) internships, including a summer at CNN in Washington, DC working in production, on the assignment desk, and in the field, an internship at KTTV Los Angeles in the sports department, and at CNN in Hollywood, in the Entertainment department. In her final year at UCLA, Tiffany went to the National University of Mexico to study Mexican History and work on her Spanish.
After graduation, Tiffany made her reporting debut on the air at KCPM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Chico, California. She progressed through a series of assignments of increasing importance in larger markets on the West Coast including Bakersfield, California's NBC affiliate, KGET-TV, where she was a reporter and anchor, and Portland, Oregon's ABC affiliate KATU-TV where she was also a reporter and anchor. In 2002, Tiffany joined Philadelphia's WCAU-TV where she anchored the morning news and co-hosted a lifestyle show.
In August of 2004, Tiffany joined the CW11 Morning News Team in where she anchors and reports for "The CW11 Morning News," from 5 am to 7 am. As part of the Emmy Award-winning news team, Tiffany enjoys working on "The CW11 Morning News" because she is able to work on segments ranging from hard news to funny, uplifting stories.
In her free time, Tiffany enjoys running, biking, travel and cooking big Italian dinners.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and is fluent in both Spanish and Italian.
