CW11's Chris Jacobs reports from Port St. Lucie:

Carlos Beltran has already proclaimed the Mets as the team to beat and now Mets owner Fred Wilpon has upped the ante.

"I expect to be in the playoffs and deep into the playoffs," Wilpon said. "That's our expectation."

Manager Willie Randolph said he was comfortable with his owner's comments.

With hopes of rebounding this season, the Mets expect to get significant help from pitchers Pedro Martinez and Duaner Sanchez, both of whom have worked hard to overcome major shoulder injuries.
